When I was growing up my family and I always looked forward to spring. The main reason was because of the delicious taste of corn on the cob. We had a local farmer, Whittle who grew some of the best tasting corn on the cob that I have ever had even to this day.
Well now that I have my own little homestead I am creating my own memories with some great tasting corn and this is by far one of the best recipes I have in my homestead cookbook.
You could add a bit of sugar to the mix but I feel with great home grown sweet corn you do not need to add any sugar.
Lets get to cooking!
- 6-8 Ears of corn with husks and silk removed
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1 Stick of salted butter
- Fill a large pot about halfway with water.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add milk and butter.
- Add corn and reduce heat.
- Simmer corn for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Remove corn carefully from hot water.
I hope you will enjoy this recipe and I would love to hear how yours turned out. Please be sure to leave me a like or share in the comments below.
Every little bit helps!
Until Next Time
